If you take a few seconds to look through my weather photography gallery you will find a lot of lightning images that were created at night. I love lightning at night, in general you can see more fine detail in the tendrils of the strike, but you also have the risk of not having anything else all that interesting in the scene.
On my recent storm chasing trip to Arizona I really didn’t have much of an opportunity to capture lightning after dark, the vast majority of the storms while I was there died out just prior to sunset, but I did manage to get a few, and I thought I would share a couple night strikes in this quick post.
