A thunderstorm over the Little Painted Desert near Winslow, AZ
Most people have heard of the Painted Desert in northeast Arizona. The Painted Desert is a real contrast in many ways. The scenery is spectacular to take in, the environment can be harsh and there is a romanticism about the place that you really need to experience first hand to appreciate. Within the Painted Desert is the Little Painted Desert County Park, which IMO offers one of the best views of the Painted Desert that you will find. Is is from the Little Painted Desert County Park that I made this image while storm chasing in Arizona a little over a week ago.
I captured this image while shooting a time lapse of the storm you can see in this image. I also processed this one a little more than I typically do to bring out a little contrast and moodiness, I hope that you like it.
